Adobe Flash is a format used for streaming videos online. YouTube, for example, uses Flash video. You can “capture” these flash file videos by using a website designed for the purpose. Capturing videos allows you to get a copy of an Internet movie for your computer, so you can play it while not online, or on other computers.
- Visit a website like Convertfiles.com or Freefileformat.com.
-
Step 2
Click on the option to download from a site. Copy the website address of the flash video file. Scroll to the top of the video web page. Highlight the URL or web address and hold down Ctrl + C to copy the address. Right-click the text box on the conversion site. A drop-down menu appears. Select “Paste.”
-
Step 3
Click on “Output Format,” at the top of the main page on the capture website and select a format for the captured video. You can select “FLV” if that’s the format you want. Select “AVI” for most Windows movie players; the format MOV works on Apple’s Quicktime player.
-
Step 4
Click the “Convert” or “Download” button to begin capturing the video. When it’s ready, a link to your file will appear. Click on that link and the file will download to your computer where it will be saved. Double-click on the file to launch it in your computer’s default video player.
