When you create a Photoshop tutorial, obviously you need to do screen captures for each step of the tutorial. There are freeware programs that let you do this, but instead of that it is just as easy to do it all inside Photoshop. This article will show you the steps required.
- Open the project in Photoshop that you want to create a tutorial for.
-
Step 2
Carry out some step in the process that you would like to have an image for.
-
Step 3
Click the Print Screen button on your computer.
-
Step 4
Go to File, and open a new document. You will see that the dialog that pops up already has the correct size for the screen capture. Click OK.
-
Step 5
Go to Edit, and click Paste. You should now have a copy of your entire screen pasted into the image.
-
Step 6
Use the rectangular Selection tool to select the area you would like to focus on. You might want to set the proportions at the top to whatever the proportion requirements are for the site where you will be loading the image. For example, if you need an image that is 300×200. Set the proportions to 3 and 2. Then go to Image, and click Crop.
-
Step 7
Go to Image, and click Image Size. Change the size to fit your needs, such as 300×200. There you have it, you should now be able to create screen captures for tutorials.
